Root Critters are only my creation in that I am the one wielding the knife.  Because roots have to work their way around rocks and soil and other roots, no two are the same.  If a root is pulled out in one piece, and you look at it for long enough, you will begin to see that the root looks like something (real or imagined).  Once I see what that something is, my knife and I coax it out of the root so that everyone can see it.  These one-of-a-kind sculptures make great conversation pieces and even better gifts.  Here is a small gallery:
