Did you find the “perfect” lamp but it doesn’t work.  We can fix that.  Find something that you want to make into a lamp?  We might be able to do that too.  Kevin is a certified electrician and can rewire almost anything. If we can’t get it to work, you pay nothing.

While we would love your business, you don't need to be an electrician to rewire a lamp.   Here are a couple of rewiring jobs I did myself.

Replacing the Thermostat

The trick here is to mark the wires as you disconnect them from the old thermostat, so that you know where they go in the new one.  Most thermostats come with little tags for this purpose.  Turn the A/C and Heat breakers off.  Disconnect the wires and label; remove and replace, reconnect. Turn the breakers back on.  It really is that simple.

Lamp Switch Replacement

The first step in a rewiring project is to figure out what's wrong.  In some cases the connection is loose and tightening the connection fixes the problem.  In others there is an invisible break in the cord and a complete rewiring is necessary.

In this case the switch was old and worn causing the lamp to flicker.  I simply replaced the component.  The difficult part of this was removing the cord from the lamp to paint it and replacing it.

Hint: Duct tape makes the cord stiff and easier to push through a channel.

WARNING:  Electricity is nothing to fool around with.  Whenever you are working with wiring, make absolutely sure that there is no power going to the wires you are working with.  If you are not sure, STOP and call a qualified electrician.
